“Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart”

A mentor is more than just an advisor, teacher or guide. They are people who provide support and encouragement, who see the potential in each young person they mentor.
Mentors are not able to force a child to make better choices but share their experiences, knowledge, advice and offer unconditional support. By sharing and living out positive values, mentors are able to introduce children and youth to new experiences that can help them from making bad choices and avoid negative behaviour to achieve success.
Research suggests that most human brains take about 25 years to develop, and this can explain the poor choices that many children and teens make. Various studies have shown that children with mentors in their lives have a far better chance of making better choices.
Parents whose children have mentors have observed a vast increase in the following characteristics.

"If you cannot see where you are going, ask someone who has been there before."
~ J. Loren Norris
Mentoring boys is vital in order to raise amazing gentlemen for the benefit of women and children. The only way to achieve change is to get involved and start raising boys to be men of character. When we raise men of character, women and children will benefit from stable family lives and will feel protected to live their lives to the fullest.

Availability of Mentors
Despite this, one in three people report never having a mentor in their lives. Obvious choices are parents or guardians as they naturally form part of our lives and can be very influential but do not always have all the answers. Sometimes an external person can bridge the gap and fill the gap that absent parents or guardians leave.
Team Building
Team building activity while on a boys' mentorship camp at Noble Village.
Camps form a valuable bonding time between mentor and kids. This time away also gives the children a chance to see the mentor in a different setting, believing and living out what they share with the kids during the weekly sessions.

Activities fall into two categories:
- Weekly activities that form part of the 2-to-3-hour session that the mentor has with their kids.
